Today, on November 2, 2007, I received my reply of an e-mail I sent to David yesterday. I’m glad, I thought of sharing with him my recent update of blog. Since I had received comments during panel review about having style frames, I thought of sharing with those instructors of what I had done in my style frames.
As I said about my meeting with Adam, I am glad for getting reply from David as well, because if it wasn’t for my blog, they would have never gotten to see my process of building this project from scratch. Because I have used this blog as my diary for thesis, it was very easy for David also, to look at my work in progress. Not only he could look at my Style Frames, but reading out the comments I made, he was able to see what’s going on in my head as far as I’m feeling about my own style. So, thanks to Mike again for informing us about Blogs.
As far as getting a reply from David is concerned, I’m really glad I decided to send him an e-mail. Even though I didn’t get a chance to see him face to face, I still got very satisfying reply. He really took his time to explain what he wanted to say. He had good comments on my color scheme that I chose for thesis. But as I had mentioned before of my experience with Corel, which is not yet at the very highest level, he also realized that I need to work on it more.
One thing I noticed from his mail which is very interesting is that he also mentioned about depth of field as Mike did. Yes, it’s true, I’m missing depth of field, and as of now, I’m painting every element at the same level. I mean, I’m not making them any darker, lighter, or something that makes it feel like there is a difference of background and foreground. This is another thing that I need to make a note to myself when working with thesis in final execution.
Overall, I’m very happy with the way how David has made his point clearer. I’ll definitely work on this, and improve my style of showing stuff on canvas.
