Today, October 31st, I had one on one session with Prof. Mike Cushny. It went pretty good. I got to see my grade from 3 panelists. I was a little nervous to even look at that paper but i think it was okay.
I showed my style frames to Mike, and got really great responses. He was happy to see where I am, and really liked the way i had put my imagination on the canvas using corel painter. but because i haven't had a lot of experience with corel painter yet, my technique is still not at that level, where i can just go crazy with my imagination, and make this thesis look extraordinary. my very last painting that did of pink flower, in shot 6, was really great because this is the kind of results that Mike would like me to continue in. and personally, i like it myself also. So, now, i need to spend more time with Corel, and get my hands on it, so i can make it look like it's actually painted, rather than some paint spots.
we're going to work on animatics now. and i had a few questions about motion throughout the project. As i had comments from panelists also to see more motion. The way i would like to proceed in animatics is by drawing all shots in photoshop, and bring those layers in after effects to give some dimensions of space, and animate the camera. rendering out each shot, and having thier output as quicktime, will allow me to make a sequence in Final Cut Pro, and get a great looking animatics.
I was a little concerned about music. after talking to Mike, i think now, i should start looking for audio, which may or may not stay as final but i need something to start of with. Other than this, i'm taking audio class right now, and i think i am loving it. it's just so good and everytime i sit to do my homework, i find it way better than watching any Hollywood film. So, i think by the end of this semester, Protools will be on the tip of my fingers, and if i want, i can make the audio file myself the way i want it to be.
Also, i'm trying to get in touch with my friend whom happens to be a DJ, to help me with audio. But i am not relying on him hundred percent because he's just giving me a piece of audio for this moment, so i can start on my animatics. Besides depending on him completely, i'm also doing some research now so i may be able to find audio.
Overall, i think i am in good position as of where i'm supposed to be by now in the pre production of thesis. All i have to do now, is edit my Style Frames, get the animatics, and lay down audio, and i'm done. ( Sounds so simple!!!!! ) But, as they say, easier said than done!!!!
